Ok people, so now we’re onto hosting!
Web hosting= where websites are placed and HostGator is the hosting service I use. Click here to get to their homepage.
Step 1: Head on over to the Hostgator home page here.
Step 2: Choose the plan you would like to start off with.
If you don’t have any page views, following, or readers you can start out with the Hatchling Plan. The lowest and most affordable plan. If you have more than one blog you should think about getting the Baby Plan! Don’t fret if you don’t know which one you want now, because you can always go back and upgrade or downgrade whenever needed.
Step 3: What’s a domain name?
After choosing your hosting plan, you now must choose your domain name! YAY! This made me feel so OFFICIAL… well, kinda sorta anyway. A domain name is just the name that you give your website.
Anyways, when choose your name and make sure it’s not taken already. once registered, just know that you’ll have to register it again annually.
Step 4: Now you choose your hosting plan.
Step 5: Enter billing information
Step 6: Extras!
Step 7: The final step before you own your site!
Don’t be frightened by the price. If you go back to step 4 inside this post, you will see something called “billing cycle” You can change around the length of time to make the price lower if need be!
